Do you know what a Cherry Pit Pillow is?
It’s a pillow filled with clean, dried cherry pits. When heated they deliver moist penetrating heat. Place them on tight muscles, tummy aches or just to warm beds and cold feet.
A Swiss tradition that has spread to much of Europe!
Just about everybody has heard about microwavable pain relievers like buckwheat pillows, or socks filled with rice, corn, flax or other herbal pillows. However, few people in America have heard about cherry pit pillows. They are, in fact, a Swiss tradition. Foundry workers of oldused heated cherry pit sacks to ease their sore muscles after long days at hard physical work. The trend soon spread to Germany, where they have their own term for cherry pit pillows, Kirschkernkissen. In many of the colder European countries, cherry pit filled pillows are well known and loved.
Where do the cherries come from?
Cherry pits in Hot Cherry Pillows are 100% from the most precious and favored Montmorency tart cherries. Every July when cherries come in season, the Montmorency cherries are pitted and juiced, as a nutritional supplement that aids arthritis and sleep, because they contains high levels of antioxidants and melatonin. Those pits become a sustainable by-product, instead of going to a landfill. Cherry pits are cleaned and dried with a patented process that uses only water and heat, no chemicals.
Microwaves and pillows differ in size and wattage. Always test Hot Cherry® pillows first on lowest setting and increase in 30-second to 1-minute increments. Larger pillows may be too big for small microwaves. Microwave turntable must rotate completely; otherwise, the pillow may get scorched.
Each time you heat the Hot Cherry® in the microwave it sterilizes the fabric; there is no need to regularly wash the pillow.
If spot cleaning is needed, hand wash in cold water and dry flat on paper towels.
Hot Cherry® pillows can be washed in a washing machine. Wash separately on gentle cycle, with like colors.
Dry pillows in the dryer on medium heat with several towels to soften the fall. Make sure your Hot Cherry® pillow is dried completely before storage.
